1. Purchase an Indian Painting by Apu Debnath Banga
Since arriving to Mumbai, the art capital of India, Apu Debnath Banga has earned a reputation for his art in both the Indian and Western markets. Spotted working on the railing gallery outside the reputed Jehangir Art institution, French, English and American collectors have bought his works to sell in markets abroad.

Apu has been a prolific artist since his early childhood; he is now in his mid thirties. He endeavours to capture traditional scenes of Indian life which are fast disappearing with the economic transformation of recent years. His compositions are elegant in their simplicity, drawn freehand with skill hard to comprehend when you watch him at work.

Apu captures the emotions, way of life, culture, colour, traditional methods and evolves his paintings into one comprehensible whole expression of beauty which can be enjoyed endlessly. For those who have travelled to India the paintings recall fond memories of the unique scenes of India and for those yet to travel to India the paintings entice a longing to phantom the complex culture of India.

This collection of paintings was drawn with acrylics on canvas. They were commissioned specifically to raise funds for a charity dedicated to supporting underprivileged children of India.

Apu had a sell-out exhibition in London in November, 2007. The 2008 collection will be shown in London from 7 to 9 June: please see the details in 'Events’.

The charity enjoys a long association with the Indian artist Apu Debnath Banga. Apu paints photograph quality canvases of loved ones and friends. The painting offers a lasting memory of an anniversary, birthday or special moment in the life of the person you want to thrill.

2. Nov 07 Art Exhibition of Apu Debnath Banga

The wonderful thing about this fund-raising event was the ability to work with the people from the community in Chiswick, west London. Nic Ladha kindly supplied his salon to hang the pictures; Peter Cashmore took the photos; Bruce Reekie, the antiques shop owner, supplied the tables; Karine Falc’her told all the attendees about her many visits to India and working for the charity; Darcau the café supplied us with coffees; the many local residents supported us by buying the art and crafts; Sachi Alexander-Annan greeted the guests and gave them drinks; Maria Hamer at srcg helped with the printing and laminating; Scott Annan for bean counting and general labour; The Picture Man and Esmond Robinson for framing services, and the many shops in Chiswick that displayed the advert. We are massively grateful to One Click Media Services Ltd for managing our website.

This event helped raise approximately £3,000.
