1.)Tsunami Victim - Basker Family

Sri Laksmi (35) lost her husband in the Tsunami. They lived in Bangalore. Sri Laksmi is a Hindu who had married a Christian under a "love marriage". Her husband had gone to Nagaputtinam at Christmas to pray in the church as he was facing some financial difficulties. Whilst there, he lost his life.

Sri Laksmi was left with no means to support her boys Sri Ram 10 and Mukesh 7. She speaks English and is well educated. She went to Nagaputtinam to see if she could locate her huspand's body. Whilst working with the aid agency Avvai she was offered a job by the chairman Mr R Somasundaram.

She has now moved to Chennai and is working as a warden. She cannot look after her boys whilst she works so the fund is supporting her boys who now attend a boarding school.

Funding
The fund contributes Rs.25,600 per year for the boarding school expense of the two boys.
