About Us

The Major T Ramachandra Relief Fund was set up in January 2005, initially to provide relief to Tsunami victims in India, by Ragini Annan and Scott Annan in memory of Major T Ramachandra.

Major T Ramachandra was a great social worker, freedom fighter, writer, theology teacher, philosopher who tirelessly pushed the message of unity in all religious thinking. He worked with Mahatma Gandhi during British rule in India. He was awarded the OBE for his services to the British Empire. Ramji, as he was affectionately called touched the hearts of hundreds of people including Ragini who has adopted him as her grandfather.

Ragini is intensely inspired by Ramji and had made a personal vow to continue the charitable work that Ramji had started. Major T Ramachandra Relief Fund is the keeping of that vow. The main aim of the fund is to provide relief in India where it is most needed and to continue the work set up by Major T Ramanchandra.
