About Us

We are a small charity set up in January 2005 called to action by the Tsunami of 26 December 2004.

The Major T Ramachandra Relief Fund was set up to provide relief to Tsunami victims in India, but has now expanded to support other children.

The charity is named after Major T Ramachandra who during his life pushed the message of unity in all religious thinking. He worked with Mahatma Gandhi during British rule in India and was awarded the OBE for his services to the British Empire. Ramji, as he was affectionately called started a school for under privileged children in Chennai. The charity has continued his work.
